Bisexual Dating in Manchester: Bi Curious Fun

Chat in private first, then meet for a drink off Canal Street.

My Bisexual Secret has more than 140 members across Greater Manchester and more than 80 in the city itself. Use this page to plan a night on Canal Street, find BiPhoria, a bi group going since 1994, read the local age mix and sort out testing and trams before you meet anyone.

That Greater Manchester figure takes in the City of Manchester, Bolton, Oldham and Stockport. Men are the majority, with couples and women among them.

A Night Out on Canal Street, Step by Step

The Gay Village follows Canal Street along the west side of the Rochdale Canal, with Richmond Street and Princess Street running off it. It's the setting of Queer as Folk, which first aired in 1999. Here's one way to spend an evening there with a date from the site.

  1. Find each other at the Turing bench. Sackville Gardens, across the water, holds the Alan Turing Memorial: Turing on a bench, apple in hand, unveiled in 2001 and placed between the university and the Village bars on purpose. It's an easy landmark to agree on.
  2. Start at The Molly House. This bar and café on Richmond Street, just off Canal Street, has been trading since December 2010, so a first meet can be a coffee rather than a pint.
  3. Move on for cabaret. New Union, a pub and hotel on Princess Street, puts on cabaret nights, which gives you both something to talk about besides yourselves.
  4. Stay among people. Keep a first evening to the Village bars, and save somewhere private for another night, once you both feel sure.
  5. Tap your way home. Bee Network buses and Metrolink trams take contactless: one tap as you board a bus, tap in and out at tram stops, and your fares are capped for the day and the week.

BiPhoria: Bi Company Since 1994

BiPhoria sums itself up as "Bisexual Space and Voice since 1994". Its monthly meet, Talky Space, happens on Zoom for bi people in Manchester and the North West, starting at 7:30pm, or 8pm if you've been before, and it's for over-18s. The group also holds pub and coffee-shop meet-ups on less regular dates, and it marched at Pride over the 2026 bank holiday weekend.

Pride itself takes over the August bank holiday weekend. In 2026 a new community interest company, Manchester Village Pride CIC, set up by Village businesses and community members, ran it from Friday 28 to Monday 31 August, with the parade at noon on the Saturday.

Rather type than talk in a group? Bisexual chat on the site lets you flirt one to one, at whatever pace suits you.

Look After Yourself, Then Enjoy Yourself

The Northern Contraception, Sexual Health & HIV Service, part of Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, handles STI and HIV tests, PrEP and PEP, with clinics across Manchester, Salford and Trafford. LGBT Foundation also offers confidential STI and HIV tests for LGBTQ+ people aged 18 and over and for men who have sex with men, in person or with a home kit.

Salford, Stockport and Altrincham are all close, and Metrolink's eight lines run out to Altrincham, Bury, Eccles, Rochdale and East Didsbury, so a date from a neighbouring town can meet you halfway by tram. Before you go, check that they carry a blue tick, and read how to meet safely.
