The Gay Village, Street by Street
Birmingham's Gay Village sits beside the Chinese Quarter, centred on Hurst Street and part of Kent Street, with more venues on Bromsgrove, Sherlock and Gooch Streets. Most members in the region are men, and women and couples are on the site here too, so ticking more than one when you sign up widens the field.
Hurst Street
The centre of the Village, and home to the Birmingham Hippodrome, a theatre of up to 1,800 seats where Birmingham Royal Ballet is based. A show and a nightcap can share a street, which makes a first date easy to plan. In 2026 the Pride parade left Victoria Square at noon and headed into the Village here.
Kent Street
Nightingale Club, at number 18, is the big club, with nights on through 2026. The Village Inn, a long-running cabaret bar, moved in 2025 into renovated premises on the corner of the Nightingale site.
Bromsgrove Street
Missing, at number 48, is a party bar open seven days a week from midday, with resident DJs, drag and karaoke.
Further Out
Wolverhampton sits at the other end of the West Midlands Metro tram line from Birmingham, and Solihull shares the city's NHS sexual health service. Looking for something casual with a member from either? Our page on bisexual hookups explains how to say so up front.
Board Games, Bi Friends and a Big Pride Birthday
Birmingham Bisexual Queer Group, BBQ for short, is a social group for bisexual people that meets on a Saturday once a month for board games and conversation, at various venues. It's listed in Birmingham LGBT's directory, and the organisers can be reached by email to ask where the next one is.
Birmingham Pride is held over the late May bank holiday weekend. The first was in May 1997, which makes 2027 its 30th, and the official dates are Friday 28 to Sunday 30 May 2027. Tickets went on sale in August 2026, with a low-income ticket scheme alongside them.
Healthy Habits and an Easy Ride Home
Umbrella, run by University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, looks after sexual health across Birmingham and Solihull: STI tests in clinic or with a home self-sampling kit, HIV testing and treatment, PrEP, PEP, contraception and condoms.
On National Express West Midlands buses you tap on with contactless and the fare caps itself, with no need to tap off. Swift, the region's smartcard, covers bus, tram and train.
Agree which Hurst Street bar you'll meet in before you set off, and check their profile for the blue tick. If anyone tries to move the chat to WhatsApp before you've met, the site flags it, and our safety advice explains why that matters. Wondering who you're dealing with? Read how members are checked.
